Yesterday morning, Robin had to go to her second job at 8 AM, I ended up staying at her house with the dogs until 2 PM. I had some Chinese takeout from China Star since it was nearby.

I only rode about 6.8 miles from Robin’s house to my Warmshowers host’s house in west Easton. There were a couple of hills and a busy intersection I had to go through. Nevertheless, it was a nice day to ride a bike since it was sunny.

I arrived around 2:45 PM at Tom’s house. Tom is my Warmshowers host for the night. He had done some bike tours in Europe with his sister. His wife had passed away and his two children are grown. One works as a chef in Maine, the other just finished training at the FBI academy.

I ended up taking a nap until 7 PM. Tom then drove me in his electric Smart car to his favorite Lebanese restaurant called Daddy’s Place that served huge portions of food. I had the chicken shawarma plate. For the first time in a long time, I wasn’t able to finish all my food.

By the time we came back to Tom’s house I was so tired. I ended up sleeping ten hours and woke up at 7 AM.

Today, I’ll be cycling to Portland, PA, a small town near the Delaware River. I’ll be using my camping gear for the first on this trip and sleep in a Warmshowers host’s backyard. I’m not sure if I’ll have internet to write my next blog post in time.
